From what I've read, the 710 was the next logical step in upgrading the HF product line. The dx101 replaced the dx5000. The dx10 replaced the dx3000. The FT710 replaces the dx1200. All those older models were designs from a decade or more ago.Any radio in the top 20 is going to be good, but getting a radio in the top 4 is a pretty good thing! Actually hybrid SDR's are better than pure SDR's as demonstrated with the 7300, the FT DX 10 handles better noisy environment and doesn't get overloaded when the 7300 does because of that hybrid arquitecture..
